Our coaching staff brings decades of combined experience across all levels of gymnastics, from early development through optional and collegiate pathways. We are committed to building confident, strong, and technically sound athletes.

Team Leadership

Coach Kirsten

Coach Kirsten serves as the leader of ROGA’s USAG Girls Program, bringing a unique combination of high-level coaching experience, academic expertise, and a deep commitment to athlete development.

She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science and plans to pursue a PhD in Sports Psychology, with a focus on resilience in female athletes. Her approach to coaching is grounded in science, emphasizing not only physical performance but also the mental strength and long-term well-being of each athlete.

Kirsten began her athletic career as a Level 7 gymnast before transitioning into track and field, where she competed in the 100m and 300m hurdles. She continued her athletic journey into endurance sports, completing multiple half marathons, a marathon, triathlons, and numerous 5Ks. In addition, she successfully coached herself in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting, qualifying for the American Open, a testament to her discipline, knowledge, and drive.

With over a decade of experience in health and wellness, including personal training, group fitness, and clinical work in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and stress testing, Kirsten brings a comprehensive understanding of strength, conditioning, and athlete performance into the gym.

Her coaching background spans multiple disciplines, including gymnastics, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, and taekwondo, where she holds a black belt and was a nationally ranked competitor. She has also coached her own daughter through Levels 2–7, giving her a valuable perspective on both athlete development and the parent experience.

Prior to joining ROGA, Kirsten coached at Champions Gymnastics Center in Arkansas, where she worked with team and elite-level athletes. Since April 2024, she has led the USAG Girls Program at ROGA, focusing on building strong fundamentals, developing higher-level athletes, and expanding opportunities within the program, including continued education and implementation of advanced training pathways such as TOPs and HOPES.

Kirsten is known for her hands-on coaching style, attention to detail, and commitment to helping each athlete reach their full potential.


Coach Kayvin

Coach Kayvin serves as ROGA’s Boys and Girls Team Coach and Development Director, bringing over 27 years of coaching experience, including more than two decades at the national level.

Throughout his career, Kayvin has developed athletes from foundational levels through elite pathways, with multiple athletes advancing to collegiate gymnastics programs. Most recently, he coached an athlete who is continuing his career at Stanford University. His experience spans both boys and girls programs, along with extensive leadership in full gym operations.

Kayvin also played a direct role in developing a U.S. Men’s Collegiate National Champion, highlighting his ability to guide athletes to the highest levels of the sport. Under his coaching, athletes have earned national titles, podium finishes, and All-American honors across multiple levels of competition.

Prior to joining ROGA, Kayvin was a Head Coach and Business Partner at Above the Bar Gymnastics Academy, where he led program development, athlete progression, and overall operations.

In addition to his coaching career, Kayvin is a combat veteran and former paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. His military background shapes his leadership style, emphasizing discipline, accountability, and a team-first mindset.

Kayvin is multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and his native Belizean language, allowing him to connect with a diverse athlete and family base.

He is known for developing strong, confident athletes while building structured programs that support long-term success.


Coach Manuel

Coach Manuel brings extensive international experience in men’s artistic gymnastics as both a coach and judge, with a career spanning national team leadership, world-level competition, and elite athlete development.

He is a FIG Level 3 Coach, one of the highest certifications awarded by the International Gymnastics Federation, qualifying him to coach at international competitions worldwide . In addition, he is an internationally certified brevet judge, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Code of Points and the technical standards of the sport at the highest level.

Manuel has served as a Men’s National Team Coach for Mexico, where he played a key role in developing athletes for international competition. He has coached at the World Championships level, including guiding athlete Kevin Cerda to an All-Around World Finals appearance.

His impact on the sport is further reflected in the FIG Code of Points, where a parallel bars skill, “The Salazar,” is named in his honor, a distinction reserved for those who have made lasting contributions to the evolution of gymnastics.

Throughout his career, Manuel has demonstrated a strong ability to develop athletes from foundational levels through elite competition, combining technical precision with a comprehensive understanding of athlete progression.

He brings this high-performance experience to ROGA, supporting the continued growth of both boys and girls programs and helping athletes reach their highest potential.


Coach Tammy

Coach Tammy brings decades of coaching experience and a deep legacy in athlete development to Rochester Gymnastics Academy. She began coaching in the 1970s and has spent the majority of her career developing gymnasts across all levels, from preschool through optional athletes.

She coached for over 20 years at Dakota Gold Gymnastics, where she worked extensively with pre-team and competitive athletes through Levels 7 and 8. In addition to club coaching, Tammy served as an assistant high school coach for six years, earning Assistant Coach of the Year honors in 2020. During that time, her team achieved multiple championship and runner-up finishes, reflecting both strong program leadership and consistent athlete success.

Throughout her career, Tammy has coached numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, as well as athletes who have become coaches and leaders within the sport themselves. Her coaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, consistency, and long-term athlete development.

After stepping away from coaching in 2022 to care for family, Tammy returned to the gym in 2025 after relocating to Rochester. She currently serves as Recreation Floor Manager and Team Liaison at ROGA, supporting both staff and athletes across multiple programs.
