Preschool Advanced (Ages 4-5)
Preschool Advanced is the second level in our preschool program and is designed for children who have completed Preschool Beginner or who have prior gymnastics experience. This class builds on foundational skills with a greater focus on technique, strength, control, and confidence.
Athletes participate independently in a structured 60 minute class that begins with a group warm-up and stretch, followed by rotations through progressive stations. While fundamentals remain the foundation, expectations increase in this level. Athletes are challenged to refine shapes, improve body tension, increase amplitude, and demonstrate stronger listening and focus skills.
Repetition continues to be key, but in Preschool Advanced, athletes work toward cleaner execution, stronger landings, and more consistent skill performance. Coaches provide spotting when needed while also encouraging growing independence and safe decision-making.
Skill progressions may include:
Vault: Strong two-foot hurdle and takeoff, controlled jumps with improved height and tight body positions, consistent stuck landings
Bars: Front support with proper body alignment, stronger swings and casts, chin holds, introductory pull-overs with improved form
Beam: Forward and backward walking with control, releve, basic turns, jumps over objects, kicks with pointed toes and balance focus
Floor: Controlled forward and backward rolls, stronger kick-ups to handstand, cartwheels with straight legs to lunge, improved body shapes
Trampoline: Controlled seat drops, straight/tuck/straddle jumps with height and control, half and full turns, jump combinations
In addition to skill development, this level continues to strengthen balance, coordination, flexibility, listening skills, and group participation.
